Metatrader 4 is limited to single core 32 bit operation, which is rubbish for the optimization feature in the strategy tester. Metatrader 5 runs multi core 64 bit, so it cranks through optimizations. I love mt5 but. I find mt4 a lot easier to develop in than mt5 and I can get access to better spreads & execution on mt4.
